Hi Diane, reading your articles is always enjoyable, and instructive, also for us who live in Italy, and are Italian native speakers. Grazie! I'd like only to point out a little typo -it's Mille MiglIa (miglio, pl. miglia=mile)-, and add a common, even though quite disturbing phrase with "festa": fare LA festa a qualcuno (not to be confused with the "fare festa a qualcuno, see above)= get rid of someone (as in "kill them"). Per favore, continua a deliziarci con i tuoi appassionati e appassionati "commentari" sulla nostra bella lingua e cultura: noi ti leggermo sempre più che volentieri. Ogni bene, Danilo
