I know bit Italian Languaga and when i saw this movie. I learned lot from it. As everybody says "Practice makes the man Perfect"

Clark Gable actually speaks Spanish in this scene.
I have never seen the Italian version, certainly dubbed, where C. Gable would speak Italian...

good examples, and I always struggle when explaining "get" to foreigners.

The "fare" example that sticks out in my mind when I was learning Italian was about "fare una foto". I kept saying "prendere una foto", a direct translation from English, which is incorrect. It took me forever to get into the "fare una foto" habit!

Great topic - I look forward to reading more about "modi di dire", too.

I've been learning Italian for almost 10 years and this is the best explanation I've ever seen for the idiomatic use of FARE. molto grazie...Can't wait for the book!!!
